127. Character Study: Chuckie & Filburt

They were the ones hiding behind their best friend. The ones who said "I don't think this is such a good idea" and "I'm nauseous" while the world fell apart around them. But what if the scaredy-cats were actually the bravest characters Nickelodeon ever wrote?

In this Character Study, we put Chuckie Finster from Rugrats and Filburt from Rocko's Modern Life side by side, and the parallels are wild. Two anxious, glasses-wearing best friends who were way more than punchlines. We break down their personalities, their families, their surprising moments of courage, and why an entire generation saw themselves in these two nervous wrecks.

We also play Wild Card — tossing Chuckie and Filburt into scenarios with other neurotic characters. The last option had us laughing.
